The Screye series by Oysta "8.8."
ScrEye is a series of abstract manga-inspired eyes that explore private emotion, reflection & dreamscape. Each piece treats the eye as both a vessel of feeling and a tiny cosmos, where tears, starlight, & texture turn sorrow into something luminous & resolved.
The work blends charcoal, acrylic, nail lacquer, & gesso on canvas to create layered, shimmering surfaces that feel both fragile & powerful at once.

About the Artist: Oysta (signed) 8.8.
Oysta, who signs his work, "8.8.", is an abstract expressionist and multi‑disciplinary artist whose practice spans visual art, jazz vocals, perfumery, and drag.
The numerical signature "8.8." is a furtive nod to his legal initials and a way to imply his "infinite" aesthetic name changes.
Oysta has been studying abstract expressionist painting since 2007. His early work was published in community college magazines as cover art, and in 2008 he co‑headlined a two‑man exhibition titled “Angels & Anarchy” at San Jacinto South. These experiences helped shape his voice as an artist drawn to emotional intensity, layered symbolism, and the tension between fragility and power.
